The National Transport and Safety Authority has announced the resumption of services after it closed down its online portal for a system upgrade and maintenance.

In a statement on Friday, the authority said services will run on two portals ( timsvirl.ntsa.go.ke and  tims.ntsa.go.ke ) until June 30, 2021.

"This is to enable all users to interact, familiarize themselves with the system and undergo scheduled virtual training sessions," NTSA said.

NTSA noted that applications launched through the revamped system shall be completed in the new system, including rejected applications.

"Clients should not relaunch existing applications through tims.ntsa.go.ke. This is to prevent E-Citizen repayment for the same service. All applications launched via  timsvirl.ntsa.go.ke  will be processed before 5 pm Friday, 4th June 2021," NTSA said.

On May 27, 2021, NTSA announced that some of its online services will be interrupted due to the continuous service improvement strategies.

The interrupted services included the Smart Driving Licence booking/enrolment, PDL, Test Booking applications, Collection of Logbooks, and Number Plates.

The NTSA Mobile Application and the contact centre was also temporarily inaccessible.

However, the collection of Smart Driving Licences at various centers and services on the Revamped TIMS - timsvirl.ntsa.go.ke will be available to the public.
