The embattled Wajir Governor Mohammed Abdi says he hopes for a credible and sound judgment by the senate committee hearing his impeachment case.

Speaking at the end of the trial in the Senate on Thursday, the county boss said he was confident of his defense against the allegations leveled against him by the county assembly.

"We are confident that the verdict rendered by your committee will be that that is credible and above board," he said.

On his part, the county assembly, through their lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi placed a passionate appeal to the Committee to indict the county boss.

He listed 13 grounds and urges the Senate to uphold the impeachment of the county boss.

The governor will know his fate on Monday when the committee tables a report on the governor's fate.

Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka gazetted a special sitting of the Senate on Monday to consider a House Committee report on the impeachment of governor Abdi.

The senatorial impeachment Committee chaired by Nyamira senator Okong'o Omogeni retreats Friday to file a report on the investigation of the Governor's impeachment ahead of Monday's sitting.
