ODM leader Raila Odinga has honoured Mothers Day by recalling how he lost his mother while in detention.
Mother's Day which is celebrated May 9 annually, is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.
"My mother passed away while I was in detention. I was formally informed about it two months after her demise. My mother like the millions of others was special and unique," Raila said on Sunday.
Raila said that just like Mother Earth, mothers make the world a better place.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka also wished all mothers well.
