Jubilee Party has asked its members to express their interest for Kiambaa Member of National Assembly and Muguga Ward MCA posts.

In a statement on Wednesday, Jubilee said those interested in the by elections should send their applications before May 2, 2021.

“The  applications should be received by the jubilee party director of elections in the prescribed form on or before May 2 2021,” the party said.

The by-elections will be held on July 15.

Applicants are required to download and print the form, fill it as duly instructed and thereafter scan the filled form together with all required documents which should be emailed to [email protected].

The emailed application should be addressed to the Jubilee Party director elections and is to be received by that date.

The application forms can be sourced from Jubilee Party headquarters in Pangani or downloaded from the party website.

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said each political party intending to participate in the by-election shall submit the names of the persons contesting in a party primary and the date of the party primary on or before May 3.

Also, the political parties have until May 17 submit a list of persons nominated to contest in the two by-elections to the Commission.

Parties have the same period to present candidates intending to vie through direct nominations.

Candidates shall be allowed to hit the ground for campaigns on May 24 to July 12.

Muguga's by-election comes following the demise of Eliud Ngugi, who passed on in March at the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital.

Kiambaa Constituency lost its MP Paul Koinange to Covid-19 related complications on March 31.

The Koinange family announced last week that it had settled on Lenah Koinange as its choice for the Kiambaa by-election in Kiambu county.

Lenah is former Cabinet minister Mbiyu Koinange's daughter.

But former Kiambu Woman Representative aspirant and Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange's wife June on Monday declared interest in succeeding her husband.

A section of elders also endorsed Lenah and called on Kiambaa people to rally behind her.
