BBI PROPOSALS

Ultimately it's the people who have a say

We will not be challenged into a contest whose result will mean nothing

In Summary
  • The MCAs voted and the process in Parliament amounts to nothing
  • I would expect that after BBI sailed through, MCAs, being politicians, would be publicly claiming credit for the results

The real numbers are with Kenyans and not their representatives.

We will not be challenged into a contest whose result will mean nothing.

As people supporting Deputy President William Ruto, we have said before and we maintain that our focus is not the Building Bridges Initiative.

We made it clear that we want to focus on the real empowerment of ordinary Kenyans who struggle daily to put a meal on the table.

We will not be distracted from the empowerment agenda we have set as our priority by people who claim that they have the numbers.

When the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020, will be tabled in Parliament, let them proceed and do whatever they want.

As for us, we will continue with our empowerment programmes and selling our 2022 agenda to Kenyans.

Those are the things we want to get ourselves busy with. The contest they want to bring to Parliament is neither here nor there. The MCAs voted and the process in Parliament amounts to nothing.

The contest they want to bring to Parliament will be meaningless because if you win or lose, it means nothing after all.

If the BBI proponents who are bragging that they have the numbers really believe they do, why are they not selling BBI, especially in Mt Kenya? If you move across the whole of the Mt Kenya region, you will be surprised that not even the MCAs are selling BBI.

I would expect that after BBI sailed through, MCAs, being politicians, would be publicly claiming credit for the results.

I have held more than 80 meetings across Kiharu and Murang'a since January, but all the MCAs who attend never sell BBI. They know very well that Kenyans are not for BBI at all.

About the numbers in Parliament and the impeachment of the Deputy President, it is clear that they don't have the numbers they keep talking about in public.

If they do, why can't they bring a motion on the floor of the House?

They know too well that impeaching the DP is not as easy as saying 'Tialala'.
