Members of Parliament have been invited to attend the requiem for former Matungu MP Justus Murunga.
Chief Whip Emmanuel Wangwe on Tuesday said the legislators should however adhere to the Covid-19 protocols.
While making a statement on the floor of the house Wangwe said the family and the ad hoc committee on burial preparation had agreed that the burial takes place this coming Saturday at his Matungu home.
"Mr. Speaker I wish to confirm that the requiem mass of the late legislator will be held on December 3 at St. Stephen ACK Church along Jogoo road starting 2pm," Wangwe said.
"Members and staff are invited to attend but in strict adherence to Ministry of Health Covid-19 protocols," he added.
Murunga died on November 14 while being rushed to the hospital.
The cause of his death is unknown but reports indicate he had breathing difficulties before collapsing in his Kakamega home.
Murungu was sponsored to Parliament in 2017 by the Amani National Congress party and was his first-term in office.
He was a close ally to Deputy President William Ruto.
The legislator was a Member of the Departmental Committee on Agriculture and Livestock up to his death.
On November 19, a magistrate's court issued orders stopping the two wives of the legislator from conducting the burial.
Milimani Magistrate Agnes Makau issued the order and directed the alleged lover Agnes Wangui, to serve the two wives and Lee Funeral home with her papers ahead of the hearing date on 26 November.
Wangui wanted the burial stopped until her children were recognised as the MP's children.
On November 27, the court lifted the order and allowed his mistress agnes Wangui and her two children to take part in the burial.
Magistrate Peter Muholi allowed DNA samples to be collected from former Matungu MP Justus Murunga's body.
