Innovation will take centre stage as the future of tourism and hospitality, Tourism CS Najib Balalala has said.
In a virtual meeting on Tuesday, Balala said workers in the sector need a re-skilling, re-invention and innovation to survive in the industry.
"This is the moment to adapt, redesign, implement new ways and ideas to help the sector accelerate recovery and reinvent the hospitality of tomorrow," he said.
Balala said tourism will need to rethink and reflect on several critical areas like health, use of technology and active involvement of local communities with direct benefits to create a sustainable and resilient in future.
Kenya has been awarded the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Safe Travel Stamp after adopting the global health and hygiene protocols dubbed ‘Safe Travels'.
Kenya, in line with the global reopening of tourism and travel protocols, made its submission drafted by National Tourism and Hospitality Protocols Taskforce to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for validation.
