The number of Covid-19 cases in the country on Sunday hit 62,388 after 719 more people tested positive.
A statement by health CS Mutahi Kagwe said the new cases were from a sample of 4,732 tested within 24 hrs.
The country's cumulative tests now stand at 742,481. From the new cases, 685 are Kenyans while 34 are foreigners with 451 being males while 268 females.
The youngest is a five-month-old baby, while the oldest is 81 years old.
Nairobi leads with 333 cases, followed by Mombasa with 84, Busia with 50, Kiambu 45, Turkana 33, Kajiado 24, Kitui 21, Nyeri and Garissa each 2o cases.
Nakuru has 18 cases; Kakamega 17 cases; Mandera 14; Machakos nine; Kilifi; Kirinyaga and Trans Nzoia four cases each; Homa Bay and Tharaka Nithi three cases each; Nyandarua and Meru two cases each; and Isiolo, Kwale, Nyamira, Laikipia, Migori and Embu with one each.
Some 912 patients have been discharged after full recovery bringing the total number of recoveries to 41,931. Out of these, 782 are from the home-based care programme, while 130 from hospitals.
Kagwe said unfortunately 8 more patients had succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,111. Kagwe said 60 patients are in intensive care units, 23 of whom are on ventilatory support and 32 on supplemental oxygen.
A total of 1,316 patients admitted to health facilities across the country, while 5,623 are in home-based isolation and care.
Another 60 patients are under the ICU, of whom 23 are on ventilatory support and 32 on supplementary oxygen.
Another 70 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen out of whom 59 are in various general wards while 11 are in high dependency units.
