Two boda boda riders charged with phone-snatching have been freed after the complainant withdrew the case.

A Kibera magistrate was told that Martin Andalo and Kelvin Nangame, with others not in court, stole Clarkson Otieno’s phone in Kawangware on October 29 and tried to flee.

Andalo was also charged with handling stolen property. The prosecution told senior principal magistrate Sharon Maroro that Otieno  alighted from a matatu and while making a call, three men on a motorcycle  snatched it and escaped.

He shouted for help and the public managed to seize one of the suspects. A woman who knew the suspect pleaded with the mob not to kill him.
