Court allows DPP to be enjoined in Deputy CJ Mwilu's case

DPP has charged her with fraud, bribery and abuse of office charges, all of which she denies.

The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has been allowed to join a case by Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu challenging disciplinary proceedings against her.

High Court Judge Weldon Korir on Wednesday further directed the DPP to file his response in Mwilu case in seven days.

Mwilu had moved to court to bar the Judicial Service Commission from proceeding with the disciplinary hearing against her saying two of the members are biased.

And on that basis judge Korir on August 17, gave her an order stopping the JSC from conducting disciplinary proceedings against her.

Mwilu, is a member of the JSC.

Immediately after she obtained the orders in August, the DPP challenged the same.

Haji accused Justice Mwilu of using different means to delay the criminal case against her.

The DPP has charged her with fraud, bribery, abuse of office and related charges, all of which she denies.
