Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has weighed in on the matter of desisting from utterances that could fuel hatred and violence.

In a statement on Tuesday, Kalonzo condemned the recent utterances made by MPs Johanna Ng'eno (Emurrua Dikir) and Oscar Sudi (Kapseret).

"It is quite shocking that the two legislators, in their zeal to score political points, chose to go for the former First Lady's jugular," he sad.

"...hurling unprintable epithets at her persona and character, while fully aware of her inability to talk back or (to) give a measured response to the allegations levelled against her."

Kalonzo said the the utterances were 'obscene, unwarranted', and totally uncalled for.

"They deserve condemnation from all right thinking Kenyans. We are in a heated political crucible, but this is no excuse for some Kenyans to exceed the boundaries of decency," he said.

He urged for restraint and temperance in Kenya's political discourse.

"Our politics must not be allowed to degenerate into an abyss of cacophonous barbarism," he said.

"Let us learn to reason together as Kenyans. We must not let raw emotions destroy the very national fabric of our Nation."

A section of members of the National Assembly Security Committee have also asked the Deputy President William Ruto to personally apologise to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his family over attacks on the head of state by his allies.

The six members, led by chairman and Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange, on Tuesday said that while Ruto has condemned the attacks by MPs Oscar Sudi and Johana Ng'eno, it is not enough.

The other MPs are: Peter Kaluma (Homa Bay Town), Roza Buyu (Kisumu), Benard Mulu (Kitui Central), Wavinya Washira (Mwea) and Edward Kaunya (Teso North).

According to the group, Sudi and Ng'eno are Ruto's mouthpiece and thus the DP should personally apologise to the first family.
