Restaurant operation hours have been extended by an hour and will now close by 8pm, President Uhuru Kenyatta has said.
During an address on Wednesday, the Head of State also said the closure of bars and night clubs shall continue for a further next 30 days.
"Ban on alcohol sale by licensed hotels with residents is hereby lifted," he said.
Previously, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe had said the opening of restaurants is not a permit for bars to sell alcohol.
During the briefing on Wednesday, the President also lifted the ban on the sale of second hand clothes (mitumba).
"The sale of mitumba has been lifted and details and protocols on how operations will be run to be announced tomorrow," Uhuru said.
Uhuru also made it clear that the nationwide curfew from 9pm-4am has been extended by a further 30 days.
He also announced Kenya recorded 213 more cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, raising the country's total to 33,016.
Another 241 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 19,296.
However, Uhuru announced that five more patients have succumbed to the virus bringing to 564 the number of fatalities in the country.
He urged Kenyans to continue observing all guidelines by the Ministry of Health.
