Millie Odhiambo, Sankok ranked best performers in Parliament - report

Other top performers include Didmus Barasa, Sabina Chege and Ndindi Nyoro.

Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo is among the best performing politicians in the National Assembly, a report has found.

The report by Mzalendo released on Wednesday indicated that past reviews shows she has maintained good performance since 2017.

Millie has spoken in the Assembly for 334 times making her the most active.

 

Odhiambo is a staunch supporter of ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.

She was followed by Nominated MP David Sankok who spoke 219 times. Sankok who represents PWDs was the most vocal in the male category.

He was followed by Funyula MP Wilberforce Oundo (183) and Endebess MP Robert Pukose at 170.

According to the report, the Average speech counts in the National Assembly are 20 speech counts.

63% of the total number of members of the National Assembly are below the average speach counts.

The top-performing youth in the National Assembly is Didmus Baraza MP Kimilili followed, Sabina Chege MP Murang'a county, Ndindi Nyoro MP Kiharu and John Mwirigi MP Igembe South.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi never uttered a word in the National Assembly in 2019, a this is according to a report by Mzalendo.

 

According to the report, past reviews shows he has maintained the performance since 2017.

The report also reveals Busia Senator Amos Wako also never uttered a word in the Senate last year, alongside five others including nominated members.

They are among 25 legislators – both from the Senate and National Assembly who have been rated for their poor performance in the said period.

Senator Ledama Ole Kina (Narok) was ranked the top performing senator.

He was followed by Moses Wetangula (Bungoma), Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), Ochilo Ayako (Migori) and Getrude Musuruve (nominated).
