Kenya's Covid-19 cases jump to 5,206 after 254 new cases recorded

CAS Mwangangi announces 41 new recoveries and two more deaths.

Kenya on Wednesday recorded 254 new cases of Covid-19, raising the country's total confirmed cases to 5,206.

The new cases emerged from 4, 859 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours.

Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi said Kenya's cumulative tests now stand at 151, 361.  

 
 
 
 
 

From the new cases, the youngest is four years old while the oldest 92 years.

The CAS said a total of 41 patients have been discharged, raising number of coronavirus recoveries in the country to 1, 823.

However two more deaths were recorded raising the country's fatalities to 130.

The 254 cases are distributed in Nairobi (127), Mombasa (36), Migori (29), Kajiado (22), Kiambu (12), Busia (9), Uasin Gishu (5), Muranga (3),  Machakos and Kilifi (20) cases each, Nakuru, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Garissa, Isiolo,  Kakamega and Kisii  (1) case each.

In Nairobi, the cases are distributed in Westlands (32),  Dagoretti North (18), Langata (16), Kamukunji (14), Embakasi East (12),  Makadara (10), Embakasi South (8), Kaasarani (4), Ruaraka (3), Starehe, Kibra, Embakasi North and Embakasi Central, (2) cases each, Roysambu and Mathare (1) case each. 

The 36 cases in Mombasa are from Mvita (11), Jomvu (8), Kisauni and Likoni (5) cases each, Changamwe (4) and Nyali (3).

All the 29 cases from Migori are from Suna East. Kajiado's cases are from Kajiado Central, Kajiado North and Kajiado East (2) cases each.

In Kiambu the 12 cases are from Thika and Kiambu Town (4) cases each, Kikuyu (2), Kabete and Juja (1) cases each.

Seven cases in Busia are from Teso South while two from Matayos. In Uasin Gishu the five cases are from Ainabkoi (3), Turbo and Kesses, (1) case each. The cases in Muranga are from Kiharu (2) and Kigumo (1).

The two cases in Machakos are from Athi River and Matungulu, one case each. Kilifi has its two cases from abai and Kilifi South one each. Nakuru has its case from Naivasha while Siaya's case is from Bondo.

Taita Taveta has its case in Voi while Garissa has one case from Garissa Town.
