President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of quick recovery and good health to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson who is recovering from Covid-19.

Uhuru sent get well prayers and hailed Johnson for his frontline role in the war on Covid, a tweet by State House posted on Saturday said.

Johnson, who tested positive for coronavirus on March 27, was moved to ICU on Sunday evening after experiencing breathing difficulties.

He was later moved out of ICU on Thursday and the hospital said he was able to take short walks.

The UK has been badly affected by the coronavirus with a death toll of more than 8,000 and more than 73,000 confirmed cases.

Kenya has 191 confirmed Covid-19 cases.
