Fly540 plane crash-lands in Lokichar, Turkana

A Fly540 plane carrying Tullow Oil employees has crash-landed in Kapese, Lokichar in Turkana county.

The plane which was heading to Nairobi from Lodwar made an emergency  landing after developing an engine failure.

Turkana South police boss Robert Kibuch confirmed the incident noting that there were 49 passengers and five crew members.

 
 

He said that the pilot had earlier made emergency landing at Kapese Airstrip but when taking off to Nairobi, an engine failed.

He said no casualties have been reported and at the moment they are in the bush waiting for Tullow rescue team.
