CS Kobia hands over Youth Affairs department to ICT

Gender CS Margaret Kobia has officially handed over the State Department for Youth to the ministry of ICT.

This comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta announced on Monday that the Youth Affairs was moving to the ICT docket.

During the handover ceremony on Friday, Kobia expressed her gratitude to the President for trusting her with the position.

CS Kobia said the future is based on technology and has challenged the youths to ensure that they are equipped with skills that will enable them to stand the changing times based on the technology.

"Every young Kenyan must as a matter of practical necessity acquire basic literacy to use technology and be competent enough to be productive in a digital productive," Kobia said.

Kobia's docket has now remained with two portfolios, Public Service and Gender.

ICT CS Joe Mucheru, Chief Administrative Secretary of the Ministry of Public Service Rachel Shebesh among other government officials from the two ministries were present during the ceremony.
