Most parts of the country will experience dry weather and sunny intervals in the next five days, the Kenya Meteorological Department has said.

Temperatures will hit a high of 26 degrees in Nairobi and up to 35 degrees in Mandera, Wajir and Marsabit.

In West Pokot, Samburu and Turkana, temperatures will reach highs of 36 degrees.

In a statement signed by the Director of the Kenya Meteorological Department Stella Aura, the weatherman indicates the coastal strip will experience highs of between 25 to 33 degrees.

"The Coastal Strip (counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale) will be cloudy in the evenings and temperatures will range between 25-33oC, "read the statement.

The five-day forecast, however, says that lake and Rift Valley regions (counties of Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Nandi)will receive light rains to enhanced rainfall with a thunderstorm in the afternoon.

"South-eastern (Counties of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and TaitaTaveta) will experience Light rains breaking to sunny intervals in the afternoons."
