NTSA has permanently revoked the license of the driver who was involved in an accident that claimed eight lives at Chepsir along Kericho-Nakuru Highway on Friday.

Director General Francis Meja said Abdulle Ali Mohamed who was driving the trailer that collided with a bus on Monday has been banned from possessing a driver's license.

NTSA said after preliminary investigations, the report showed negligence on the driver’s side.

“Following the fatal crash involving a trailer KBHJ/ZF 8069 belonging to Multi-Energy Limited, NTSA has permanently revoked the license of the driver Abdulle Ali Mohamed. Preliminary investigations show the driver was descending in the climbing lane towards oncoming traffic without due care causing a head-on collision with a PSV matatu belonging to South Rift Sacco,” stated Meja.

He said the revocation was necessitated by the fact that the driver is a danger to all road users and should never be allowed to drive on the Kenyan roads.
