The harsh sunny weather being experienced in most parts of the country will persist this week, with temperatures hitting 30 degrees in Nairobi and up to 38 degrees in Mandera.

In Wajir and Garissa, temperatures will reach 38, 37 degrees, respectively.

In a statement signed by Kenya Meteorological Department acting director Stella Aura, the Coastal strip will experience sunny weather of between 24 to 33 degrees.

The one week forecast, however, says parts of the South Rift, South Coast and the South Eastern lowlands may receive some rainfall during the next five days.

The weatherman has also warned against wildfires in areas with dry vegetation and strong winds like Lodwar and Marsabit.

"There will be poor visibility in dusty areas where the temperatures are high like the coastal counties and arid and semi-arid areas like the Wajir and Garissa," it said.

The sun is expected to set in Nairobi at 6.52 pm, 6.43pm in Mombasa and 6.58pm in Kisumu.

In Southeastern (counties of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta) the morning nunny intervals will be between 13 and 14 degrees while sunny intervals will reach between 30 to 34 degrees.
