Fogging started to prevent outbreak of chikungunya

Speculation is rife about a repeat outbreak of chikungunya fever, creating fear among Mombasa residents.
 The residents say they have been experiencing symptoms of the painful but not deadly fever.They have seen places being fumigated by the county to kill  mosquiitoes.
Villagers chief secretary Walter Opanda said Changamwe has been an area of interest, “We have been seeing people complaining of joint pains  and headaches,” he said.
The Health department said the fever has not been confirmed but blood samples have been taken to the Kenya Medical Research Institute for testing.
“We are still investigating, “ Health Prevention head Salma Mohamed told the Star on Wednesday.
