Ex-EACC staff found guilty of bribery, ordered to pay Sh800,000

Two former Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission

employees have been found guilty of soliciting a bribe and fined a total of Sh800,000.

Magistrate Felix Kombo ordered the two to pay the

Sh800,000 fine or face

a one-year

jail term.

Felix Mutinda and Fredrick Omaya are said to have solicited a bribe of Sh180,000 from Judith Kashem as an inducement to ensure her company is not disqualified from the list of pre-qualified suppliers for the EACC.

On the second count, Mutinda is said to have received Sh50,000 as inducement not to cancel an LPO for the supply of cameras to the EACC.

Omanya faced a charge of receiving a Sh28,000 bribe.
