DPP Haji orders release of Tharaka Nithi man arrested for cooking dog meat over hunger

DPP Noordin Haji on Thursday ordered the immediate release of a man from Tharaka Nithi county arrested for slaughtering and cooking a dog for lack of food.

He further directed the County Criminal Investigation Officer to liaise with the county commissioner to provide the man, called Munene, with adequate food.

The man had allegedly killed the dog after going for days without food.

He was to be arraigned on Friday.
