You will have to continue bearing with hot and dry conditions for the next week, the weatherman has said.

If you are, however, in Central and Western Highlands, you are off the hook as rains are expected to continue.

Kenya Meteorological acting director Stella Aura said the rest of the country will remain mostly hot and dry in the next seven days.

“The counties of Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Laikipia, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma and Busia are likely to experience sunny intervals in the morning, although rains are likely to occur over few places on Tuesday,” she said.

Aura said evening showers and thunderstorms are expected in few places throughout the forecast period.

She said the counties of Turkana, West Pokot, and Samburu are likely to experience sunny conditions. This will pave the way for clear skies at night throughout the forecast period.

“Central Highlands (counties of Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka-Nithi) are likely to experience sunny intervals in the morning although light rains are likely to occur on Thursday and Friday,” she said.

Aura, in the forecast she released yesterday and expected to apply until Monday, said evening showers are expected over few places between Tuesday and Thursday.

The rest of the afternoons will be sunny and the evenings partly cloudy.

In Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo, sunny conditions are expected during the day and clear skies at night for much of the forecast period.

However, morning rains and afternoon showers are likely to occur on Friday.

Aura said Kajiado, Kitui, Makueni, Machakos and Taita Taveta are likely to experience sunny intervals during the day and partly clear skies at night for much of the forecast period. However, there is a likelihood of light morning rains and afternoon/evening showers in a few areas and in the extreme southern parts of the region up to Thursday.

Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale are likely to experience sunny intervals during the day and partly cloudy skies at night.

However, morning and early afternoon showers are likely to occur over a few places between yesterday and Thursday.
