He called Ruto and asked him to forgive him
Former Jubilee Party vice chairman David Murathe yesterday phoned Deputy President William Ruto and pleaded for his forgiveness.
According to multiple sources, Murathe who resigned from the ruling party in January this year is said to have assured Ruto of his full support in his 2022 presidential bid.
Murathe is said to have cited business deals with Ruto that went wrong as the genesis of his attacks on DP, bitterness that boiled to an extent he said he would move to Supreme Court to seek an opinion whether Ruto should offer his candidature in the 2022 presidential race.
“You know we are brothers, we have come from far as a team and you are a reason why Uhuru is the President. It was not in bad faith and I didn’t mean to hurt you only that you messed me up in our business but I’m now willing to let this go for the sake of our friendship,” Murathe is said to have told Ruto.
On his part, Ruto is said to have challenged him to put up a paid-up full-page advert in two newspapers of national circulation apologising to him.
The DP is said to have demanded that the advert should run daily for 14 days.
It is reported that Murathe’s bold move to approach Ruto has something to do with the fact that today is April Fools Day.
