Heavy rainfall expected in Northeastern – Met

Hot weather will persist in Turkana and Baringo counties, rains also expected in Western and Central Highlands

Heavy rainfall is expected in Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo and Marsabit from Tuesday to Thursday.

Rains are also expected in Western and Central Highlands.

The weatherman says rainfall of more than 30mm is expected from Wednesday in Wajir, Garissa, Mandera and Isiolo.

The metrological department has warned people in low-lying areas about possible flash floods in areas that have not received recent rains.

Hot dry weather will continue in Turkana and Baringo counties.

Last week, the metrological department said long rains may be delayed until early next month.

The weatherman blamed a tropical cyclone that caused in havoc in Mozambique last week, for sucking up moisture that would have resulted in rains in Kenya.
