DCI detectives recover high-end cars using motorbike number plates

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has recovered two vehicles using motorbike registration numbers believed to have been stolen.

DCI says the Range Rover (KBN 591A) and Mercedes Benz (KBG 330E) were recovered from the residence of a Nairobi City County official on Tuesday.

DCI detectives also recovered two other pairs of number plates (KCR 985U & KCR 196P) which had been kept in the boot of the Mercedes Benz.

Cases of missing cars have been on the rise in Nairobi.

In January, three suspects accused of being behind the theft of more than 10 vehicles in Nairobi and Kajiado were charged.

The three had been accused of allegedly drugging motorists and security guards in estates using stupefying drugs before stealing the vehicles.
