The ODM Party is set to relocate its headquarters from Orange House in a matter of weeks.

The party's secretary general Edwin Sifuna on Tuesday said the party's management has already procured a new building to serve as its headquarters in Kilimani, Nairobi.

Orange House is located on Menelik Road, also in the Kilimani area.

"The transaction and the transfer process is already complete and we are now just sprucing up the new facility before we move in," he said.

"Part of the work being done to make the building ready are just painting and putting in a few fixtures to accommodate the office needs. We are also buying new furniture.

We will move in weeks."

Media reports last year indicated that the party was to vacate its current premises by December 31 last year.

The reports also indicated that the party was kicked out by its landlord, said to be Caroli Omondi, a one-time chief of staff at the defunct office of the prime minister.

However, Sifuna dismissed the claims as media propaganda.

"Some outlets alleged that we were being kicked out, which is total nonsense," he added.

Caroli Omondi has since been appointed to the board of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya by President Uhuru Kenyatta in the wake of the famous handshake deal ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
