Kenya lacks adequate standards and incentives to promote the use of alternative clean fuels, according to the World Bank.
The bank in a report says that though good ground has been covered since 2010 there is need to formulate a sound regulatory framework for other fuels.
In the World Bank RISE 2018, Kenya scored 66 out of 100 in 2017 on clean cooking policies.
The responsibility for clean cooking policies and implementation is distributed among many government agencies in the country.
The ministry of energy is mandated with setting and tracking the adoption, while Kenya Bureau of Statistics for monitoring and enforcement of clean cooking strategy.
