A
boda boda rider was on Sunday night killed by robbers near Rodi Kopany market along Homa Bay – Rongo road.
Jabes Ouma, 30, was shot on the head by the thugs at Kalanya Kanyango area.
Ouma had carried two passengers from Rodi Kopany market to Homa Bay town at around 10 pm.
The two passengers turned to be robbers and ordered him to
stop before robbing him.
Area chief Fredrick Onyango
said residents heard gunshots at night and rushed to the scene where they found Ouma lying in a pool of blood.
“The rider was rushed to Homa Bay county referral hospital by a good Samaritan. He later died while undergoing medication,” Onyango said.
Last week residents of Rodi Kopany decried increase of insecurity saying
the unknown gang was terrorizing them
at night.
They claimed the gang operate from 8 pm when most business people have closed.
“Most of them are armed with crude weapons. They steal from shops and rob us properties,” Okoth said.
