Two people died on Monday night
in a road accident along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway at Athi River, Machakos county.
The two died on the spot after their vehicle hit a lorry from behind near Mombasa Cement, just a few metres from the Nairobi-Namanga interchange.
Athi River police boss Sharma Wario said the accident occurred at 11pm.
The bodies were removed to Shalom community hospital's mortuary in Athi River.
The wreckage of both vehicles was towed to Athi River police station.
