The Health ministry has dismissed social media posts and rumours that the recent polio vaccination was having negative side effects on children.

Through a press statement, director of medical services at the health ministry Jackson Kioko said the claims were ridiculous. “Two cases with skin conditions were reported in Nairobi and Kiambu counties where two children were diagnosed to have had foot and mouth viral infection caused by coxsackie virus and not the polio virus,” he said.
