A suspected Kenyan human trafficker was arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Tuesday night.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested Geoffrey Mutemi and rescued five Tanzanian and two Ugandan girls.
"The victims were rescued at the JKIA as they were preparing to leave the country for Oman," DCI boss George Kinoti said on Wednesday.
In July, Kinoti said women, children and the youth are the most susceptible to human trafficking.
Kinoti said Kenya has been mapped as a source, destination and transit for trafficking.
He said mechanisms, including having specialist officers trained in high-level intelligence, have been put in place to help fight the vice.
