A lobby group has written to DCI boss George Kinoti to include the murder of Sharon Otieno's unborn baby in the case against Governor Okoth Obado.

CitizenGO says that according to Article 26 of the Constitution, human life begins at conception and that already Sharon's child was buried as a human being.

The Migori governor on Monday denied charges of murder; and aiding, abetting, and financing the murder of Sharon - a former student of Rongo University.

More on this:

In the open letter to DCI, the group argues that the charge sheet presented in court has errors having omitted the fact that Sharon’s baby was also murdered.

"We were surprised that the charge sheet presented in the courts omitted the fact that Sharon’s baby who was recently buried and named after her mother also was murdered."

The organisation says it has followed, with keen interest, the court proceedings against the suspected killers of the late Sharon Otieno.

They want Kinoti to acknowledge the stated fact and that the suspects be charged with killing both the mother and baby.

A postmortem report showed that the unborn baby boy died out of a knife stab. He was laid to rest on September 14.

On Sunday, DPP Noordin Haji directed the DCI to pursue and arrest the hit men in the murder of Sharon.

"Ensure that the hit men and other persons who have been adversely mentioned are arrested," Haji said in a statement.
