Commissioner David Kipkemei has told criminals in Kitengela to pack and leave or they will be shot dead.

Speaking on Thursday night after a meeting with security officials in Isinya, he said criminals will not be tolerated.

"This is my final warning to gangs. Your time is up. We are not negotiating, leave or face the bullet," Kipkemei said.

He handed the Kitengela security team two police patrol cars and gave them firm instructions to end crime in the fast-rising town.

"We should not be dictated to by criminals who harass, maim and kill innocent people in this town. The criminals who have escaped police dragnets should know their days are numbered,” Kipkemei said.

The commissioner said police officers have been deployed to Kitengela and other crime hotspots in the country with clear instructions to eliminate

gangs at all costs.

Kipkemei said he will lead security operations in Kitengela.
