Kirinyaga deputy governor Peter Ndambiri has said the county will revoke licenses of bars in villages and those near schools and churches.

Speaking at Kithure in Gichugu on Thursday during the burial of Bildad Njagi,36, who was stabbed at a local bar, Ndambiri said no one would be spared in the crackdown.

"Most of these bars operate during the day. We are aware some police officers collect bribes, we will as leaders tackle that menace,'' he said

Ndambiri was accompanied by Tharaka Nithi deputy governor Peter Kagwima.

During the sametime, Ndambiri hinted that he will vie for the governor's seat in 2022.

Governor Anne Waiguru is highly perceived to be Deputy President William Ruto's running mate in the Presidential race in 2022.
