Shabana vow to fight on despite recent upsets

Shabana FC hope to get back to winning ways in the National Division One League Zone B when they host Bondo United at Gusii Stadium.
Coach Andrew Kanuli said they have not lost hope in their quest to qualify to the National Super League next season. “We shall fight until the last day. Eldoret Youth are six points ahead of us and in football, anything can happen. Our focus now is to beat 7th placed Bondo United at home,” he said.
Shabana lost 1-0 to Eldoret Youth last weekend at Gusii Stadium and the win lifted them to 52 points from 20 matches ahead of Shabana who are second with 46 points. Winners from Zone ‘B’ will automatically qualify to NSL while runners up will face their counterparts from Zone ‘A’.
In other matches scheduled for tomorrow, Poror Mote play relegation threatened Nyakach United at Poror High School while stuttering Kisumu Hot Stars host Transfoc at Moi Stadium, Kisumu. On Sunday, runaway leaders Eldoret Youth welcome fourth placed Bungoma Super Stars at Wareng’ High School seeking to extend their lead.
“We are going for three points against Bungoma. We don’t want to drop any points now. Our win against Shabana has boosted our morale,” said Evans Mafuta, Eldoret Youth’s assistant coach.Raiply and Trans Mara Sugar will battle it out at Bishop Delanny High School while Timsales host St Joseph’s Youth Academy at St Andrew’s School, Turi in Molo. Silibwet are expected to host Griffin at Silibwet grounds.
