A pastor has been charged with defiling a 16-year-old girl in a Makindu court.
Japheth Musembi of GNCA Church Kyatune in Kitui denied the charge before Senior Resident Magistrate Anastasia Ndung'u.
The court was told the suspect allegedly committed the offence in Makindu town on Friday during the national convention for the church.
He is said to have disappeared on Friday evening and was traced in a lodging with the minor he had travelled with from Kitui.
Musembi was released on a Sh100,000 bond with a surety of the same amount.
The suspect was unable to raise the bond and was remanded. The case will be heard on September 4.
