Deputy President William Ruto has asked Teso residents to support his 2022 presidential bid.
He said the government has initiated a myriad of projects in the region to warrant political support.
"The measure of any leadership is not how much they talk, it is how much they deliver to residents.
"It is how many kilometres of roads you have constructed, how you have helped people access education, water and electricity supply, and that is how leadership is going to be measured in Kenya," Ruto said.
He asked, "Are the projects we have initiated in Teso region worth the 3,000 votes you gave us in the previous general elections?
Between us and you people who owe the other? Ruto asked.
The Deputy President was speaking at Kolanya Boys High School in Teso North during a funds drive in aid of reconstructing three dormitories that were razed down by fire in May.
Among the goodies Ruto said the government has delivered in the region include Alupe University where an additional

Sh280 million has been set aside for the expansion of the facility.

Ruto said

Chemasiri Technical training institute is set for completion in the next two months with a Sh50million worth of equipment to be delivered.

Earlier, Ruto met Busia MCAs at governor Sospeter Ojaamong's residence in a closed-door meeting that lasted for over an hour.
He was accompanied by Chief Administrative Secretary Foreign Affairs Ababu Namwamba.
Also in attendance were Teso North Mp Oku Kaunya, Sirisia Mp John Waluke, Nambale MP John Bunyasi.
He said that the Sh3.1 trillion County budget should be chaneled towards development.
"Let us shun 2022 politics for now, the appropriate time will come," Bunyasi stated.
