Two Maseno University students were shot and wounded by gunmen on their way from watching the World Cup Final on Sunday night.
Kisumu West OCPD Wilstone Mwakio said the students were attacked by three people
at Nyawita Village behind the Maseno Siriba campus.
Vincent Ochieng was shot in the chest and arm, and Ndobi in his right wrist, by the criminals who stole their phones.
Mwakio said they were taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.
"We found an empty cartridge at the scene. We will use it for investigations," he said.
No arrests had been made by press time.
