Six teachers in Chalbi Boys High School in North-Horr have been injured after they were attacked by students for allegedly coming from outside the community.
One of them
is in critical condition.
He has been transferred to Meru hospital while the others are receiving treatment
at Marsabit general.
The school has been closed indefinitely.
The students descended on the teachers on Monday and hurled stones at them.
Area
chief Guyo Isako said the teachers tried to escape but the students caught up with them and attacked them.
They also destroyed school property including the staffroom
and window panes.
Marsabit county commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo said three students have been arrested and police are interrogating them over the incident.
