Taxi driver remembers Khetia Kishani after plane goes missing

A taxi driver who took Khetia Kishani to Kitale airstrip, so he could board the aircraft that later went missing, has recounted their last conversation.

Kishani was

a member of the family that owns Khetia Investments in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.

Dennis Kirui, who drove him to the airstrip a few minutes to 4 pm on Tuesday, said he was on a

business mission to Nairobi.

"He was

my regular customer and would pay later. He asked me to call him after an hour but his phone went unanswered, "said Kirui.

The aircraft went off radar on Tuesday evening with 10 people on board.

The others were identified as

Captain Barbra Wangeci, officer Jean Mureithi, Armed Ali, Kabara Waweru, Matakasarai Thamani, Matakatekei Paula, George Ngugi, Pinuekerton Ronald and Robinson Wafula.

Ronald was

a popular caucasian businessman who often speaks Kiswahili and is married to a Kenyan.

Wafula hailed from Bungoma County. His sister Charity was

optimistic that he would

be found alive.

It was reported that the plane was serviced regularly and had flown to Homa Bay and Maasai Mara earlier on Tuesday.

Its pilots were described as experienced but it was said that they may have flown into bad weather over the Aberdare Forest in Kinangop area, Nyandarua County.

Wangeci and Mureithi's last communicated with the control tower about 60 kms to the destination.

It was to land at 5 pm after the one hour flight from Kitale.
