A suspected thug was shot dead in Kayole following a botched robbery incident on Wednesday night.

The suspect was in the company of three others who were attacking and robbing locals when police were alerted.

Police on patrol responded and killed the suspect but his other accomplices managed to escape on foot.

More than 20 suspects have been killed in Kayole and Dandora by police over the past one month.

Police say they have increased patrols to address rising cases of robberies in the areas.

Elsewhere, a policeman was shot and injured by his colleague in a friendly fire in Madaraka area, Nairobi.

The officers had responded to a robbery when one of them shot and injured his colleague in the leg.

The injured cop was taken to the hospital. The robbers, who were attacking workers at a church, managed to escape.
