The sleepy little town of Gilgil will soon transform into a thriving economic hub, deputy president William Ruto has said.

Ruto who toured Gilgil, Nakuru county said the government will revamp it by improving the infrastructure.

He said the town needs improved drainage and road network; reliable water supply; equipped hospitals.

“Increased electricity connections will revamp Gilgil town and turn it into a thriving economic hub. We want residents to access services at the source instead of seeking them in Naivasha or Nakuru,” Ruto said.

He added that the government will be ensuring a revamped school infrastructure including curriculum development, providing learning materials, enhancing access to ICT, facilitating educational trips, exchange programmes and training of teachers to ensure quality education for our children and realise equity.
