Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago was booed at the devolution conference on Tuesday for attempting to dismiss claims that County chiefs
micromanage resources.
Mandago, who had been reacting to Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen's remarks, said county chiefs follow the law.
"We have to correct the misconception that funds are allocated from the centre," he said telling off Murkomen, who lashed out at Governors.
"We have to be candid and clear. If you have an issue, go and talk to Tolgos (Elgeyo Marakwet Governor). Go and talk to him politely. Don't come to rebuke us publicly," he also said to jeers, from delegates.
Murkomen is the Senator of Elgeyo Marakwet.
He earlier accused Governors of running away from accountability and oversight by muzzling MCAs.

But in rebuttal, Mandago said the budget-making process includes ward representatives at every stage since the budget goes through the assemblies.
"Budgets go to public participation before going to assemblies," he said.
In his brief speech, Mandago said Governors will only support the Ward Development Fund once the Senate passes the Bill and amends the Public Finance Management Act as well.
"Devolution is working and is the future of this country. Work according to the law," he said.
