Police are looking for two photographers who have been taking explicit photos of teenagers in the Nairobi city centre.
This comes after eight teenagers were on Friday arrested at Michuki Park, behind Kijabe street for indecent exposure and engaging in sexual acts.
They included seven girls and one boy who are all between form two and three.
Central police OCPD Robinson Thuku told the Star on the phone that they received a tip-off from the public but when they arrived at the scene some of them had escaped.
“We are actually looking for the photographers since they are the ones uploading the photos on the internet, they escaped from us,” Thuku said.
He said that the photo shoot was to be uploaded to a social media account called Party Animal while the teenagers confessed to do it for fun.
He said that after interrogation, they found out that the teenagers were contacted through Instagram.
“The youngsters don't know one another, they are sourced from Instagram and contacted. The problem with this generation is they are cheated with chips and chicken,” Thuku said.
Those arrested were handed to their parents with the police urging them to take necessary actions
“The hashtag has reached the parents, we are urging parents to be more responsible of their children,” Thuku said.
There was a public outcry after raunchy photos of teenagers were shared widely on online platforms.
