Amani National Congress will appeal the reinstatement of Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi as Secretary General.

The party led by Musalia Mudavadi said the

Political Parties Disputes Tribunal relied on "manufactured hearsay" in making the decision.

Earlier on Thursday, the tribunal ruled that the party's decision to appoint Barrack Muluka was irregular, null and void.

It also ruled that Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi was forced to resign and that he will hold the position until lawful elections are held to replace him.

But ANC chairman Kelvin Lunani said the arbitration court ignored the party's evidence.

"The tribunal made the wrong decision after it went fishing for hearsay of coercion rather than evidence placed before it," he told reporters at their headquarters.

"It is with conviction that justice will prevail. The party has instructed its legal team to appeal the adventurous decision of the tribunal."

Lunani further accused the court of trying to please unnamed external forces.

He asked their

supporters to remain calm as they resolve the matter.

In the run-up to last year's elections, ANC appointed Muluka as Secretary General replacing Osotsi who allegedly resigned.
