Kennedy Ogeto was on Tuesday sworn-in as
Solicitor General in a brief ceremony at State House, Nairobi.
Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua officiated the ceremony that President Uhuru Kenyatta witnessed.
Ogeto took two oaths on
commitment to the fight against corruption,
high integrity standards and fidelity to the law.
The first pledge was on general leadership and integrity while the second was an accountability.
The oaths are
an assurance to Kenyans that they will receive efficient and effective services from his office.
“I pledge to undertake within the first 90 days of commencement of my public duties a comprehensive review of internal management systems within my institution and to thereafter identify and highlight all areas of weakness in terms of anti-graft measures and to work with relevant officers and institutions to strengthen the same,” he said.

The Solicitor General is the accounting officer at the State Law Office and Department of Justice.
His duties include organising, co-coordinating and managing the administrative and sometimes legal functions of the office of the Attorney General.
Ogeto, a lawyer by profession, was approved by Parliament on Wednesday last week after the
Justice and Legal Affairs Committee vetted and gave him a clean bill of health.
The President nominated him on February 13 to succeed Njee Muturi who took over as Uhuru's Deputy Chief of Staff.
