Kitale Golf Club chairman retired brigadier Moses Yator has been shot dead.
Yator,64, was shot at 11 pm

on Saturday by three armed robbers as he approached his gate at prisons estate.

"He was attacked by three men, one was armed with an AK47 rifle. He was shot severally in the chest," Trans Nzoia East OCPD Jackson Mwenga told the star on phone.
Mwenga said that the deceased had left the club accompanied by his wife Esther Nandutu before they were accosted by the gang.
The robbers

also stole Sh25 000 and two mobile phones.

He was confirmed dead on arrival at Cheranganyi Nursing home hospital
The body was taken to the facility's mortuary .
Yator has been the chairman of the club for three years.
