Tens of youths who had turned up for KDF recruitment exercise at Ntunene, Igembe North on Tuesday were turned away for chewing miraa.

Senior recruiting officer LT Col Stephen Kiago said most of them had serious dental problems.

"Most candidates turned up with fewer teeth. I think we can attribute this to chewing of miraa or the environment. Some were missing back teeth," he said.
